Why don’t we teach emotional intelligence skills to our kiddos in school? Growing up is terrifying (especially in the pandemic)! Going through adolescence, experiencing intense new emotions, trying to figure out who you are - kiddos need emotional intelligence training to move skillfully through the world.

Emotions Camp will cover the 4 modules of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT):

  • Mindfulness

  • Distress Tolerance

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness skills

The goal of this camp is for kiddos to learn the skills to like themselves and make effective choices based on their family's values.

Each day will include one module of DBT in the morning, and one special activity after lunch that incorporates emotional intelligence. Possible afternoon activities include: meditation, self-defense, creative writing, art, energy work, and hip-hop dance!
Your kiddos will come away with a full toolbox of emotional intelligence skills. They’ll be better equipped to deal with conflict, process intense emotions, and cope with stress. With practice, they’ll get better and better at it. They’ll still experience those same emotions, the highs and lows of puberty and adolescence… but they’re going to know how to behave differently. And that’s a pretty cool thing.
